Who are Lions?

A Lions Club is part of the largest community service organisation in the world, Lions Club International, with over 1.4 million members that serve in around 46,000 clubs from over 200 countries.


WATFORD LIONS were founded in 1970 and have since raised over £1/2 million so that we can serve the local and international community

How do we raise money?

  • Raffle Draws
  • Helping to run the Hemel Hempstead Lions Bookshop in the Marlowes


What do we do with the money?

100% of money raised goes to good causes
 

We support local charities and other local deserving causes, particularly for the less abled, senior citizens and young

  • Street children/Homeless
  • New Hope
  • Christmas gifts to needy families
  • Local Scout groups
  • Blood Runners
  • Abbots Langley school children project

We also support major International appeals via LCIF

What else do we do?

Organise Fish and Chips Suppers for senior citizens

Organise an annual coach trip to the coast for Senior citizens

Respond to other requests for help

Who can be a member? 

Anyone over the age of 18 can be invited to join the chosen Lions club.

We meet on the first and third Wednesday of every month, once for a Business Meeting at Herts Bowling Club
